The prolific queen of fitness, beauty and anti-aging is back with her twenty-second book on how to stop aging in its tracks. At age 66, the stunning Somers most certainly knows something the rest of us don’t. Her new book is filled with interviews and discussions with leading anti-aging doctors and scientists who reveal ground-breaking advancements, plus glimpses of what’s to come. Some of it may be more radical than the average woman might feel comfortable with. However, many of Somers’ anti-aging tips are simple, practical steps we should all be taking each and every day. Below are ten of the key pointers she provides in her list of age-reversing ideas to consider.


  1. Take melatonin nightly and consider taking GABA for restful sleep.
  2. Reduce stress by avoiding overworking.
  3. Balance your hormones.
  4. Use organic cosmetics as superfood for your skin.
  5. Drink eight glasses of water each day and take daily vitamins, including vitamin C, and minerals (determined by blood test).
  6. Eat an organic, anti-inflammatory diet containing plenty of fruits and vegetables, plus calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium to keep your body slightly alkaline.
  7. Take a daily spoonful of natural fibre.
  8. Keep your cells healthy by consuming quality foods, especially almonds, apples, avocados, beans, beets, blueberries, broccoli, cabbage, garlic, grapefruit, kale, meat, olive oil, oranges, sea vegetables, sweet potatoes, tea, tomatoes and wild salmon.
  9. Exercise regularly.
  10. Avoid pharmaceutical drugs unless absolutely necessary.
