Focused on Fat Reduction
Written by Dr Shehla Ebrahim

before and after saddlebagsWomen come in different shapes and sizes, and this diversity makes us beautiful and sexy in our own ways. While we all try our best to maintain a healthy lifestyle, there are always areas of our bodies that are resistant and resilient to diet and exercise. This is called “stubborn fat.” Typical areas include those annoying muffin tops, love handles, back fat, belly pooch, inner thigh bulges and outer-thigh saddle bags. What can we do about these problem areas? We assume we have two options: live with them or think surgery. Neither is cool by us. And that’s exactly why Ambleside Dermedics has invested in a revolutionary non-invasive fat reduction technology called CoolSculpting. Only CoolSculpting targets the fat cells alone, eliminating them in an easy, non-intrusive fashion that exercise and diet can’t achieve as quickly or as effectively.

The Cool Solution is the More Natural Solution

before and after tummyProcedures that use laser, sonic waves and surgery to remove fat can actually destroy other tissues in the process by burning, shattering or extracting non-fat cells. That is why Coolsculpting is a safe and natural solution. At Ambleside Dermedics, the science and safety are the most important aspects behind any technology we choose to incorporate. Developed by Harvard scientists, this FDA-cleared and patented procedure uses a targeted cooling process called cryolipolysis that kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing them to the point of elimination. The technology behind CoolSculpting was inspired by the observation that children who habitually sucked on popsicles developed cheek dimples, presumably due to loss of fatty tissue from their cheeks. Harvard Medical School researchers then developed the patented and FDA-cleared cooling technique called Cryolipolysis which is the foundation of the CoolSculpting technology. The process of Cryolipolsis kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing them to the point of elimination.

Only fat cells are frozen and the skin cells remain healthy. Once crystallized, the fat cells go through a process called apoptosis where they die and are naturally eliminated from your body through the lymphatic system, where the material is processed as waste. The results are a 20 to 30 percent reduction in fat in the treated areas. The significance of its effectiveness gives the technology a powerful reputation, making it one of our most asked about cosmetic procedures. We have seen patients who have tried relentlessly to lose certain areas of fat, and recommend this liposuction alternative that requires no knives, no suction hoses, no needles and, therefore, leaves no scars.

Minimal Downtime and Lasting Results

tummy before and afterThere is no recovery time with CoolScultping, although patients may experience mild discomfort for up to 10 minutes following the treatment. Unlike a lot of other procedures, CoolSculpting takes very little time and is pretty simple to fit into your daily life. Each treatment lasts one hour – the same time you might spend at the gym – so you can easily fit your appointment into a lunch break. After one visit, you’ll typically see a noticeable reduction of fat. About two to four months after, patients will begin to notice significant results in the treated areas. In addition to undergoing CoolSculpting, Gabriele Brencher, Ambleside Dermedics Weight Management Specialist, stresses the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle and may recommend a weight loss program to help you achieve optimal results. The aim is to make you look good, feel great and increase your confidence.
